Once again, the Fort Collins-based Acidophiles will take to the stage at the Aggie Theatre and once again the self-described Live-Progressive-TranceHop sound will be a hit with the Colorado faithful. I first saw The Acidophiles at Fort Collins’ annual New West Fest downtown in August. It was refreshing for me to hear such a different sound performed in an improvisational manner, which reminded me of one of my favorite bands, EOTO.

Coincidentally, the next month I journeyed up to the Mishiwaka Amphitheatre to catch The Acidophiles open for EOTO. They even had a short set during the EOTO intermission and anyone who was there will tell you the place was going nuts to the psychadelic vibes they were bringing. Since then, The Acidophiles have played at Cervantes and are now returning to the Aggie for another night of psychadelic mania.

Although the group was relatively unknown to me, they have been around since 2008 and have since then worked hard to use their musical expression and the crowds’ energy to make for a very personal experience. As they say on their MySpace, “[We] take the stage armed with synths and controllers, and perform along with their originally produced tracks, giving each live show it’s own unique sound and feel.” Both of them are amazing people and great musicians having shared the stage with Everyone Orchestra, Telepath (1320 Records), Future Simple Project, Auditory Elements and more!

On the 26th, The Acidophiles will be joined onstage by psychadelic musicians Dalco, Sensory Orchestra, Project Aspect, and Unlimited Gravity. This lineup is jam packed with trip-hop and progressive sounds, and its guarenteed Northern Colorado will show up to be amazed.
