Euphonic Conceptions is at it again with yet another massive lineup !! Featuring some of the top dogs in underground bass music, this is sure to be one hell of a show! The night will be filled with tons of original and unique bassy goodness, each artist shares a similar style, but they are all very different from each other in there own ways.

One of my personal favorites for the last year or so, California based NastyNasty will be playing his signature 808 lazer bass style Glitch-hop. Jasper is a master of turning any dance floor into a west coast rager, i got a chance to catch him at this years Sonic Bloom. His new EP Poison Flavored is something totally different. Each song seems to portray a different vibe while still retaining an overall feel. You can tell each one of the tracks on the EP took countless hours of work and constant tweaking. Its sure to bring a smile to some faces this Saturday.

Hailing from Los Angeles, producer & performer R/D is sure to bring some heaters. Rocking his crunchy Glitch style, this set is sure to be one to get everyone moving. R/D just released a brand new EP this week titled “Bay/Crush” is a definite banger. With elements of epicness, ambience, and heavy bass this EP is sure to do great on the charts, sitting at the #1 spot on the Glitch-Hop charts on Beatport right now.

Legendary iLL Gates is known best for his collaborations with big names like Bassnectar, Mim0sa, Opiou, Samples, Datsik & Mat The Alien to name a few. Also a renouned music production guru, he does an Ableton workshop for kids interested in getting into music production and Ableton which has been said to be amazing. iLL Gates sets himself apart from his peers with his constant changing style and careful attention to detail. His latest album, “The iLL.Methodology” has been stirring up all kinds of talk. Its got everything a bass music lover could ask for on there, Dubstep, Glitch-Hop, Hip-Hop, and his take on the genre Moombahton he calls “Moombahglitch”. iLL Gates may be a master in the studio, but just wait till you see him take his mastery to the stage live.

Last but not least, “Ninja Tune Records” artist Starkey will be topping off the night with some of his original space vibe dubstep beats. Starkey is also the only non-UK DJ to host a radio show on BBC’s Radio 1. His beats are supported by some of the biggest names in the bass music community, yet still little is known about him. His music features lots of melodic arps, crunchy square wave basses, and ambient pads. His music seems to be all about taking the listener on an unexpected journey, constantly experimenting with sounds and rhythms along the way. There will also be local support from Denver local “Seied”.

If your looking to do something a little different this weekend, i would highly suggest attending this show. Its so great to see such a solid lineup of unique artists. This is sure to be a show that will hold concert-goers attention all night long. See you all there!!!

The year 2011 has seen dubstep shift into the mainstream exponentially. In January, Britney Spears’ newest single “Hold It Against Me” had a short dubstep breakdown, produced by superstar pop producers Max Martin and Dr. Luke. This was the first time anybody had heard dubstep on the radio (whether they knew what it was or not). Fast forward to May and flipping through your local metal station you could hear KoRn and Skrillex’s new song “Get Up!”, the lead single on KoRn’s new album to be released in December. Another single was released in October, produced again by Skrillex, as well as up-and-comer Kill The Noise. In interviews with lead singer Jonathan Davis, he refers to this new album as “future metal”, working with dubstep producers Skrillex, Datsik, Feed Me, Excision, 12th Planet, Downlink, Kill The Noise, and Noisia, to make an album that is “very well-rounded, with a mix of mellow, upbeat tracks; possibly the most well-proportioned KoRn album of all time.”

First off, if you’re expecting this to be in any way some deep melodical dubstep, look elsewhere. This is brostep through and through. After listening to the entire album I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. I found myself fast forwarding the tracks a lot, and I noticed that it was always once lead vocalist Jonathan Davis started to sing. His nasally voice just doesn’t sound good over these hard dubstep backing tracks. The only track that that I thoroughly enjoyed was most of the track “Fuels The Comedy” (produced by Kill The Noise). This track is great when Jonathan is rapping/yelling, and this is what really works well with this type of Dubstep, not singing. Some true head banging music. This album is trying to be hard, and the vocals don’t cut it. I think the vocalist from Lamb of God or any other metalcore band could have pulled this off much better (maybe not as radio friendly as KoRn, though).

Besides the vocals, the productions didn’t impress me much either. I’m a fan of all the artists featured on this release, and nothing in here is very new or revolutionary for them, and doesn’t showcase as much of their creativity as it should. It seems as if they were instructed to center everything around the vocals, which left them little to play with or be creative on. I wish the producers were featured as much as the vocals, which could have been really awesome, having some one or two minute-long dubstep breakdowns with no vocals whatsoever. However, I must say that Munky and Fieldy did an excellent job accompanying the crazy dubstep synths with their guitars.

Altogether this album was a letdown for me. I’m sorry if you’re a KoRn fan and this offends you, but I think they did this as a ploy to appeal to the youth of today (let’s face it, KoRn fans are getting older). On the subject of mixing metal and electro, lead singer Davis says that “since day one, KoRn has always been all about going against the grain, experimenting, and trying to take music different places”. I feel that if their intentions were to really do something so out-of-the-box, they wouldn’t be turning to chart-topping producer Skrillex to help them out with their album (Skrillex has also recently been nominated for 5 Grammys, all of which have nothing to do with his collaborations with KoRn). Electronic music and metal have been joined together before, and the only thing new about this idea is fusing a metal band with dubstep, and turning to some of the most popular producers in an absolutely exploding and money-making scene is a great place to start (sarcasm implied).

Since Britney Spears showed the mainstream media what dubstep is, KoRn’s released an entire dubstep album, Flo Rida has implemented a dubstep-style breakdown in his song “Good Feeling”, and Justin Bieber announced that he’s going to start working with “beats in the club, like dubstep” because that’s “what’s big right now”. KoRn’s “The Path Of Totatality” is the first of the sure-to-be many collaborations of mainstream artists and dubstep producers, let’s just hope some better ones come along.

Distorted basslines and twisted melody embody the vibe of Cryptex’s new “Isolated Incidents” EP, due out today, October 11th on Gravitas Recordings. Los Angeles resident Tyler Chase, better known through his midtempo bass driven project Cryptex, is hastily achieving notoriety within the scene through his popular re-glitches of artists such The Glitch Mob, Justice, Daft Punk and more. His debut EP seeks to solidify him among the names of notable glitch hoppers today.

Upon first listen, the seven track EP pulls you into a vortex of mangled, beefy beats. Lasers shoot from unknown sources, striking synapses as bent bleeps scatter across booming low end. Half dancefloor crush and half headphone recline, Isolated Incidents will not leave you wanting. Big reese stabs and hip hop rhythms show a range of divergent influences, culminating perfectly throughout the release.

The accompanying free download, aptly titled “The Glitch Anthem”, displays Crptex’s masterful mashup finesse, effortlessly cutting between Skrillex, Drake, The Glitch Mob and Kraddy, all the while sprinkled with original Cryptex harmonic work.

UK based “P0gman” has really been making a name for himself in the dubstep scene this past year. Already gaining support from some big names (Modestep, Badklaat,Megalodon, Downlink, DZ, Lonestar) to name a few. Next monday his monster of a debut EP drops worldwide. This release is sure to be a dance floor killer. With his signature old school style wubs, phat drums, and erie ambiences this is sure to have dub-steppers across the globe whiling out or control. With 6 massive tracks this EP should keep P0gman fans happy for the meantime. For those of you not familiar with this kids material, check out his soundcloud here. This friday the 29th of July Casslemans will be having an awesome event put on by Chicago based company Modern Mammoth. This party is sure to have something to satisfy everyones taste in music. From psychedelic jams, to 80′s style funky electronic grooves, to headbanging dubstep smashers this night is certain to be one to make you remember. This is going to be a epic precursor for Modern Mammoths massive Mammoth Fest which will take place in Colorado in late October, so brace yourselves!

Jantsen has been tearing up the Colorado scene the last few months with some huge releases under his belt (including one with Bassnectar releasing next week) that has really had some heads turning. He is surly making the locals proud with his outstanding productions and energetic live performances. This is definitely going to be one of the favorite acts of the night for most.

Ghosthouse album beats preview by GHOSTHOUSE

Chicago based Electro Funk duo Jimmy Con and Chuck New are looking to be something completely fresh and unique. These two have been collaborating on numerous music projects for the past 7 years to create there musical birth child, “Ghosthouse”. There music instantly gives you great vibes with there 80′s style pop/funk electronic, it reminds me of the kind of music you’d hear in 80′s music when they’d be walking through a night club. Its really refreshing to see artists really stepping outside the norm with electronic music, a variety of sounds & styles is always a good change of pace for shows like this one.

Last but not least is Boulder based headliner Eminence Ensemble. Eminence Ensemble is a 5 piece electronic/acoustic infused jam band. Taking influences all over the map, these guys really know there stuff when it comes to playing music. With plenty of psychedelic electronic and groovy rock jams these guys are sure to get a room moving. This will be an awesome follow up to there fantastic set at this years Sonic Bloom.

This show will also feature support from many young and talented locals, including Got Bass Music’s own The Digital Connection. The lineup is as follows;
