Well, tonight is the night. Grammy-nominated, Wolfgang Gartner makes his return to Denver on his current tour, and second to last stop at that. Anyone who was able to see him at either Vinyl, Beta, or, most notably, Skylab knows this man can throw down a massive set. Has a DJ let you down? Saw them once and it was amazing, then the next time, or time after that it was a complete let down? Well, sir Wolfgang is not a DJ that fits into that category. His sets, as with his productions (eight number one chart positions on Beatport to date), are ever changing; constantly adapting to a rapidly changing EDM environment, yet still maintaining his signature sound that has defined him since making the moniker switch from the deep house Joey Youngman in late 2007. Tonight will be no exception to the reputation he has built for himself.

To hype you up for tonight’s festivities, I have pulled together a number of remixes of Wolfgang Gartner tracks (we have all heard the orginals, no need to keep putting those out there) that add a twist to the instantly recognizable melodies we all know and love!

First up, a breaks re-edit. William VanDyke has been churning out re-edits for just over a year now on his Soundcloud and he brings the syncopated break beat while chopping up the melody just enough to give this more recent Wolfgang classic some fresh air. I don’t know much about OVERWERK aside from the fact that he makes some very heavy, if not a bit unconventional, electro. This remix has some mash-up elements to it as well as adding a massive intro and more melodic break-down. A little different from what you might expect, but who said change was a bad thing?

Audiobot turns up the aggression with his take on Space Junk. This electro-banger doesn’t deviate far from the original, but brings just the right amount of distortion and grime-y bass cuts to make the dance floor take notice.

Kids At The Bar have been cranking out massive remix after massive remix. Hell, this remix of Animal Rights even made it onto Kissy Sell Out’s show on BBC Radio 1 back in October. Not to shabby for 2 guys who help run ROBOTIC Wednesday’s for Robot Dance Music in Oklahoma City.

First up is a bangin’ Gorillaz “Feel Good Inc” remix from Got Bass’ very own Digital Connection. This track is hot off the Ableton press and make sure you are prepared because your body might just explode with excitement when you hear the synth and basslines that Ricky put on this one. Last weekend at the Aggie was the first time he ever played it live, and as you can tell from the video, everyone was lovin’ it!

Theres nothing like getting some quality youtube time in after a solid night of drinking. Tonight, as all the little freshmen slept on the floor around me, I happened to stumble upon a parody artist known as Jabo0ody Dubs… Originally looking for some sick generic tracks that people find by searching “dub,” I soon found myself nearly pissing myself and on all the inebriated adolescents  around me. In essence, it’s very dry humor dubbed over the popular Billy Mays – and other late night infomercial artistas – that seems to fit so nicely with the right buzz.. Check the video below for a taste of the madness… Oh and because blogging without posting a track would be rude, I’ve uploaded my track “This shit right here,” for your downloading enjoyment… As well as some actual dubstep, not dubbed infomercials.
