This past thursday I got the opportunity to head up to Fort Collins to see “Coyote Kisses” make there Colorado debut. With opening support from Blendrix, Candybeats, and Denver’s own Samples, they got the night kicked off and got the crowd already busting a sweat before the headliners took the stage.
Without a doubt the much anticipated duo lived up to peoples expectations. It was a small but intimate show, Coyote Kisses brought some real energy out of people when they took the stage around midnight.

A good way to describe the vibe of their music would be “80′s inspired, Star Wars synth electro with a dash of dubstep”. In bass music these days sometimes the melody can get lost in a swarm of over processed bass sounds and effects, but these two really know how to capture a melody and get you grooving. They performed a great all original set featuring many of their unreleased bangers yet to be unleashed on the public. Between ripping keyboard solos and glitched out vocals the duo demonstrated their vast knowledge of both playing and composing music.
I got a chance to talk to the two before their set and they were very cool and humble guys. Joe currently resides in Virginia while Bryce is in Florida, they also are full-time college students somehow finding the time to still compose amazing electronic music, tour and party. This seems to be the start of a very good story for the Coyote Kisses boys.

He recently took one of the winning spots for the Above And Beyond official Beatport remix contest, which charted him at #2 on Beatport’s dubstep charts. More recently Seven Lions released a brand new Florence & The Machine – “Cosmic Love” remix, and it is the next level. Jeff Montalvo brings the trance vibe, and the hard hitting drops simultaneously. After getting off the California stops of the UFK tour with Gemini & KOAN Sound, Seven Lions is ready to bring the heat to Denver.

His sonic architecture evolved from his training as a shred guitarist and jazz musician, fusing fast-paced lead runs with massive melodic journeys, all without compromising the semblance of big, brutal dubstep.
What the future holds for 23 is unknown, but listeners should keep their ears tuned for a diverse library of robust releases throughout the spectrum of EDM.

A lot of you are probably familiar with LA’s multi-genre bass music producer Mimosa. He just recently released a 22 minute mixtape featuring his new brain child bass genre “Future Trill”. This mix features a mix of Mimosa’s new tunes and a couple underground 808/Juke/Glitch-hop producers featuring a slew of delicious soundscapes and rich clean percussion.
This mix has been on non-stop repeat in my car since I downloaded it. This mix is sure to get you grooving no matter where you are with its feel good sounds. Be on the lookout for Mimosa this year, he’s making some big sounds.

18 year old multi-genre bass music producer Staticide is turning heads with his stylistic remixes and originals. Jon Knauff aka Staticide has been producing for only about 8 months, but already is showing massive amounts of progression.

This month for the first time Florida melodic dubstep duo “Coyote Kisses” rolls into Fort Collins to showcase their 80′s synth inspired electronic music in an energetic live set. Reaching almost 200,000 plays in a matter of weeks, this young duo showed the world what they are really capable of. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of playing with Colorado’s own DMC world champ DJ VAJRA. This humble master of his craft amazes me every time I hang with him. He is a business man, a father, and the worlds best scratch ninja. He told me he was working on this new dubstep mix and immediately I was excited because I knew it would be good! He is currently jumping back on the Yelawolf tour so if you get a chance to check him out, DOOOOOO ITTTTTT!

Last week Glitch-Hop prodigy Freddy Todd released his clever rendition of the hit classic “Jungle Boogie” by Kool And The Gang, which blew up on soundcloud reaching to over 50,000 plays in a matter of days.
Layered with Freddy’s signature funky synths, wobbly basses, and hip-hop acapella glitch work, this track packs a serious amount of energy and is guarenteed to get a crowd moving. Its not every day that you come across musicians such as Martin S Vogt aka Haywyre (Minneapolis, MN). At only age 19 he’s practically got the whole world talking about his eclectic emotion infused bass symphonies. Taking influences from artists all over the map such as Pretty Lights, Noisia, STS9, Flying Lotus and many others Martin has created a sound that is unlike anything out there right now. With 5 releases to date this young artist continues to set the bar higher and higher for hungry young producers. One thing that should not go un-noticed, is that his first 3 albums are all available for free on his website Haywyremusic.com.

With a grip of glitchy melodies, beautifully entwined piano, and crispy basslines Haywyre’s music is not to disappoint any bass music lover out there. Each song seems to be meticulously and carefully composed and arranged with FL Studio & Ableton Live. There is a very human connection with his music as you can tell most of the synth lines and piano parts were actual recordings of Martins intricate piano work.
