Last week (4/20/11) I released my third free album to the public. “Collective Human Consciousness” is the piece of art that i have been working on for the past 6 months. The music from this album will take you on a psychedelic journey through your deepest human thoughts and emotions through creative expression. These tracks may not be your typical “Brostep” bangers, but it will certainly satisfy those with a hunger for bass heavy melodic music.

Fresh out of Boulder, CO, these two badmen have been taking Colorado to the next level with their exclusive song selection including originals and remixes of their own. We had the opportunity to bring out Pillow Fight for our last “Got Bass Free Show,” which is a showcase of Colorado’s top BASS music producers and DJ’s. This last show was at the one and only The Fox Theatre, a perfect match for the hometown heros.

This remix pack is sure to get you moving and I’m proud to be one of the first websites to post it up. Colorado is the number one place in the U.S. for dubstep and this is a perfect example of how we do it here.

On January 29th, 2011 Club 156 in Boulder is going to receive an extra dose of bass music. Featuring Got Bass’s own The Digital Connection, this is sure to be the happening place that Saturday night.

Starting off the night will be Zach Sammakia AKA Bandito. Hailing from Gunbarrel, CO this young producer/DJ is turning heads with his danceable tunes. His eclectic style incorporates everything, from house music to glitch hop, and is guaranteed to cause a raging dance party. You can download his latest set as well as some original tracks for free on his soundcloud.

Also playing is Balthazar Ely, who was mentioned in an earlier post about his “Nerd Skank” EP which you can download for free. His unique sound draws from a variety of different influences of dubstep and bass music, and is often characterized by his melodic soundscapes intertwining with massive basslines.

The lineup of music will keep things interesting the whole night since everybody has something different to offer. Expect to hear lots of new songs that have been in the works from these artists. With Got Bass sponsoring the event, this party will most deffinitly be a raging!

Since my last LP (The Space Man) i’ve been completely infatuated with a sound i’ve been creating, Space-Hop. Space-Hop is a blend of lots of styles including Hip-Hop, Funk, IDM, Glitch, Dubstep, and many more.
“Triangles” is all about the many patterns and in our world, the meanings behind them, and the connection that has to Us. It was created to give the listener a unique experience that will take your mind on a journey through the deepest parts of space & time.

On Friday, November 19th, the party people of Boulder turned out in numbers to rock out to the auto-tune tinged raps of Boston-based Sam Adams, who has skyrocketed into popularity with his energetic live performance and his lyrics that have co-eds screaming “Sammy!!!” until the end of the night. The Fox was packed to capacity in anticipation of the crazy night that would follow.

Before the show turned to Sam Adams, the crowd was greeted by the thissongissick.com DJ group, Sorry For Partying, and even early on in the night, the dance floor of the Fox was hopping to remixes of their favorite electro bangers, bass heavy dubstep drops with rap lyrics mixed in over it. This was the first time that I had caught a Sorry For Partying show and it certainly won’t be the last. The DJ group got the crowd jumpin at the bit for Sam to finally come on stage.

When Sam Adams first spoke into the microphone on stage, the whole crowd went nuts as the first beat hit the speakers. He was accompanied not only by his DJ, but by a live drummer and a live keyboardist, which gave the show even more energy than the standard rap performance that I am used to seeing. Sam’s set was very diverse and the people of Boulder found themselves unable to sit still. Two of the highlights for me was his live rendition of his hit Boston Boy of his album of the same name, as well as a freestyle over Rusko’s “Woo Boost” which had the crowd going bonkers. Overall, Sam Adam’s electrifying performance was one for the Fox record books.

Colorado mini tour Schedule

Our friends over at Thisssongissick.com are kicking off their awesome November/December concert schedule with a night of independent hip-hop at The Fox in Boulder, on  November 10th. This show will also kick off the Colorado mini tour of independent hip hop duos Macklemore x DJ Ryan Lewis paired with Binary Star. They will be appearing in Aspen at the Belly Up, Fort Collins at the Aggie and finally down to Denver for a show at Cervantes.

Binary Star is no stranger to the underground hip-hop scene, as the duo of One Be Lo (also has gone by One Man Army) & Senim Silla have been finding their cd played in the systems of hip hop enthusiasts ever since the release of their one and only album Masters of the Universe in 2001.

Heres a taste of their style with the song Reality Check, one of this reviewers favorite tracks.

Macklemore and DJ Ryan Lewis have already gained renown in Seattle for their energetic live performance as well as Ben Haggerty(Macklemoore)’s fierce, provactive lyrics that vary in topics from social, political and racial issues to inspirational verses all the way to down right hilarious comedy. Macklemore is a veteran of 7 years in the underground hip hop scene and has released an awesome album called The Language of My World. Teamed with DJ Ryan Lewis, this is a duo that any hip hop cannot afford to miss!

You can download an exclusive 6-song album from thissongissick Here. This EP is amazing and its been playing out of my speakers all day since I first heard it. The track “Otherside” stands out to me as the strongest song, a very deep and emotional look at drugs and the media. This is some amazing hip hop, try to catch one of the Colorado shows!

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Egadz is a hip hop artist who makes his beats and music with an electronic edge. Originally starting as a hip-hop DJ nearly ten years ago, he quickly decided to take his love for music one step further and began producing. By 2002 he was in many college radio Top 10 spots, as well as licensing his songs to the skateboard magazing 411VM and Fuel TV. He has since released two more projects, and has played shows with acts such as Aesop Rock, Sole and the Skyrider Band, Kool Keith, and Glue.By 2008 he created his own label “Kid Without Radio”, showcasing a number of producers with similar styles.

In the past few years Egadz has created quite a name for himself, releasing a full length album in 2009 titled “Egadz is Dead”, and has just recently finished a 30 show tour in 9 different countries.  He is a one man band who performs with an MPD MIDI controller live, while playing alongside his computer running Fruity Loops. Unlike many laptop performers these days, Egadz creates his drum beats and synths on the fly using his MPD MIDI controller with extraordinary skill and improvisation. He is now touring in support of his latest release “We Want Neutrinos”, and is coming to Astroland in Boulder, CO this Saturday November 6th. If you love The Glitch Mob you will not want to miss this show! Supporting him on the tour is hip-hop group Sole and the Skyrider Band which are known for always bringing the house down with their eclectic underground vibe.
