This week, the Miami based duo, Klaypex, dropped the video (by the same people who make Skrillex’s videos) for their new single ‘Ready To Go‘ from their brand new same titled album. We’ve had a chance to preview the album in it’s entirety and it truly is a magnificent piece of work. Each song holds it’s own place within the context of the whole, and I would be interested to see how they perform live. I would imagine their performance would be something similar to how Skrillex rips apart each song and makes personalized mashups out of all of his original works. Either way, they must have some tricks up their sleeves to mix up this album live because the 12 track album spans from 70 bpm dubstep all the way up to 128 bpm electro house with a little bit of drumstep and moombahton sprinkled in between. I was able to find very little after a quick google/facebook/youtube search on the female vocalist Sara Kay who is featured very minimally on ‘Stars‘ and with full verses on ‘Sunrise. None-the-less her voice works well with this style of music and may open some doors for Klaypex to get in the studio with some more well known vocalists. All in all, Klaypex didn’t hold back at all with this album, it’s bursting at the seems with arpeggiated energy and you will never hear a dull moment. I’ve heard their style being compared to local Denver producer James Egbert, and I would have to agree.
