R.J. Barron (stage name, Whodafux?!) is an amateur Fidget DJ/Producer from Denver Colorado. Since his first year as a DJ he has played a hand full of venues in the Denver Metro area including Cervantes, Quixotes, Owsleys, and The Atzlan. He also performed at shows featuring various local DJ’s including Jon Sidberry, D-Loc, Soulshocker, DT Tactics, Cognition, and Trajikk at shows such as Fidget Factory, 50,000 Watts of Funky, Dude? Where’s The Techno, Go Hard!, STFU, and Pimp The System 2. Most recently he has been working in conjunction with Superstar DJ Keoki, Frankie Finz, and James Smith developing a new crew of DJ’s and producers in Denver, Vertigo Entertainment.

He began his journey as an electronic dance music (EDM) performer early in 2008 when he began mixing tracks with Boulder DJ/Producer Filthy Disco in the sessions they coined “Mix ’n’ Matching.” Through this he developed his endless addiction to exclusive and unheard of music causing him to spend countless hours online networking with other major and underground producers alike for the best of their promotional and unreleased content which eventually lead him to the “Fidget” genre; a term used to describe the jackin’ and wobbly bouncing sound of the music.

He’s also known to play electro, minimal/tech, break beat house, indie/nu disco, funk, hip-hop, and dub.

Shortly after purchasing his own tables, he felt DJing simply wasn’t enough to classify himself as a performer so he acquired a copy of Ableton Live 7 and began to go to work finding new samples and sounds for his library. He would later join the Potty Mouth Music forums where he came in contact with many of the industry’s top fidget producers such as James Amato, Aniki, Slade Templeton (Defunct!), Santiago & Bushido, Mightyfools, and many many more, gaining professional insight on his productions and audio engineering.

Recently, having moved to Fort Collins Colorado, he has begun work on a new project with Ross Henderson and Ryan Garner called Imagination Over Knowledge Music (IOK), an indie production, promotion, and managerial organization for local bands and DJ’s around the FoCo area. Also, word on his remix of Going to the Club by Anything but Monday is that it is set for a November 2009 release on Beatport, Track-it-down, and DJ Download on Bassment Trax Records.
