Rob Bass
Robert Brehm, aka Rob Bass, is a 22 year old amateur DJ/producer for Got Bass Music and has been DJing in the area of Fort Collins/Boulder/Denver since April of 2010. Rob Bass currently functions as Street Team Manager for Got Bass as well as a blog contributor.
Rob Bass grew up in a very musical family as the son of a former rock/soul/classical piano player as well as singer-songwriter Susan Elaine, and the brother of local Denver artist Laura Brehm, so his entire bringing up was surrounded with live music and music writing, which is where he developed his passion early.
Rob played in several bands over the years, ranging in genres from acoustic rock to hardcore, sharing the stage with local bands like The Autobiography (members currently in Breathe Carolina and Kill Paradise), but due to difficulty in maintaining bands, Robert moved to Fort Collins to pursue Colorado State, and this is where he discovered electronic music at parties in late 2007.
In the years after, Rob learned about the DJing craft from longtime friends Ricky Shine (The Digital Connection), RJ Barron (Whodafux) and Evan Wilber, and eventually began DJing local parties in April of 2010 and began to develop his skills as well as build a huge library of many different genres of music. During the summer of 2010, Rob put out his first mixes and began working with Got Bass Music in a promotional capacity that eventually evolved into joining them as a writer for the emerging blog as well as becoming the 6th resident DJ for the group.
In August of 2010, Robert played his first sold-out show at The Aggie Theatre, a couple months after officially joining Got Bass Music. Since then Rob has played many venues in 3 different cities including Cervantes (Denver), The Aggie Theatre (FoCo), Sky Nightclub (Greeley), The Atlas (Greeley) Hodi’s Halfnote (FoCo), Wicked Garden (Denver), 2 am (Denver), and The Sherman Event Center (Denver).
Rob has been lucky enough to share the stage with names like Future Simple Project and Omega (both of Family Moons/dubanimals), Cyberoptix (Play Me Records, One For All Records), J-Wail feat. Chuck Morris of Lotus, Ishe (Velcro City Records), Fresh2Death, London Dungeon, Lexi Fey, Cualli, AI Theory and Atomic Reactor as well as playing at a massive that included international names such as Darude (famous for his Sandstorm and Feel the Beat tunes) and 4Strings. Many times Rob Bass has taken to the stage with his partners in crime in Got Bass Music, Seth Abrumz, Vinnie Maniscalco, Guam, The Digital Connection and Whodafux.
