[Photos & Review] Day 3 of Electric Forest: Dada Life, 12th Planet & Major Lazer

If you thought Day 1 and Day 2 were crazy, that was just the calm before the storm. Today, I witnessed more rage faces at a single event than I have ever seen in my entire life. Pretty much, tonight was the night to party. With another stacked line-up including Dada Life, 12th Planet, and Major Lazer, any and all available energy stored up from the crazy night before, was about to be spent. So for this night, I decided to get a late start, which began with the Mixcloud contest winners & Denver locals, Prymativ, which I’ll be doing a separate post for later. By the way, they shook the trees with their killer remixes and mashups, which was a great way to start out the evening. Next up, nap time. The night before ended up being a huge drain on my energy level, and I found myself crashing hard.

After waking up, and after making sure my camera batteries were charged, memory card blank, and my belly full, it was finally time to go rage my face off at Dada Life. Who will be tearing apart the Boulder Theater on August 31st (buy your tickets quick!) Upon arrival at the stage front, I immediately identified tons of bananas, monkeys, and other essentials for the Dada Life throw down. It was gonna get crazy, but I didn’t even know the half of it. They straight up threw DOWN! From start to finish the crowd was yelling, screaming, jumping, and throwing glow sticks, balloons, and more into the air as Dada Life dropped banger after banger. I can’t even wait to see them again now in August, the Boulder Theater is going to crumble.

Next up to the 1ns and 2s was 12th Planet, who I actually got to meet on Sunday. His set mainly consisted of mind melting dubstep, mixed with some hip hop which ended up blending so well that I was convinced he invented a new genre while mixing. It was SICK! The next day, I got to watch him throw down a secret set at the Forest Stage, which will be included in the Day 4 post. What really impressed me with 12th Planets style was that he had the ability to communicate with everybody in the audience with his hip hop song selection, and then slam some heavy dubstep into it which had the result of a bouncing crowd with their right hands high. It was a sight to see to say the least. But then it was time for Major Lazer.

Boom. Major Lazer is pretty much a party x1000. There are dancers on stage, an MC, shenanigans, confetti, people crowd surfing, and huge tracks. Pretty much, the most fun I have ever had at a show. I honestly do not even have too much to say for this segment of this post, simply because I was having way too much fun jumping around and dancing. So pretty much, all I have to say is.. If there is one act you absolutely need to witness, it is a Major Lazer. You won’t even know what to do with yourself during their set. Just make sure you have a dance partner.
