While Skrillex took over brostep in 2011, This year’s BREAKOUT dubstep star from the west coast is without a doubt MINNESOTA. Within a year, Christian “Minnesota” Bauohafer has quickly integrated himself as a staple on the west coast dubstep scene and earning the respect of his peers—including glitch-hop star MARTYPARTY—who immediately recognized Christian’s talent and decided to combine forces to create the recent dubstep/glitch supergroup DEATH STAR. Both Minnesota + MartyParty have already released 2 EP’s including heavily-blogged remixes for Adele & Wiz Khalifa that have each made their way to #1 on HypeMachine. Minnesota just had an incredibly hyped set at SnowBall Fest in Vail + just recently released remixes for KASKADE, ELLIE GOULDING, and SHOTGUN.
