Excision Brings Tha House Down @ Cervantes

On Friday night I got the opportunity to see Excision, Subvert, and a whole handful of Sub.mission DJ’s at Cervantes ballroom. I got to the show pretty early, mostly to check out Zeno’s set. As no surprise he threw it down pretty hard, tag-teaming with 2 other Sub.mission DJ’s. When Subvert came on he switched up the vibe with some super funky glitch-hop, then breaking it down with some dubstep, then into some D&B. Excision came on about an hour later and completely killed it. The room was packed, sweat was dripping off the ceiling, and everyone in the crowd was going nuts. It was amazing to finally get to see one of my favorite dubstep DJ’s live, especially since he’s so busy touring all over the world. The tour continues on with Kentucky next up followed by EDC LA, and finishing up with the infamous “Shambhala Festival” which he plays just about every year. If you ever get the chance to check out either of these DJ’s live i highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for a very high energy show.
Below i’ve included a few of my favorite Excision remixes for those of you who have never heard him before. Enjoi!
Datsik – Retreat (Excision remix)
Ivory – Hand Grenade
