Recycled Vinyl & A Whole New Sound

Dublab has been working on a mini-documentary entitled “Secondhand Sureshots” involving 4 beat-makers, J. Rocc (of Beat Junkies), Daedelus,Nobody,& Ras G. “Secondhand Sureshots”, takes the viewer along on a journey into the turns and pitfalls of searching for interesting old records and then creating something new and listenable out of them. The Documentary surrounds a challenge, the rules confining the beat-makers are a $5 limit on purchasing vinyl records from thrift stores to be sampled into a new track. Also they we’re limited to five purchases and could use no further instruments other than the originally sampled tracks, this includes drum machines and synths
“Secondhand Sureshots” promises to be an amazing look into the world of the beat-maker and the vinyl DJ. Also the tracks produced during the filming of “Secondhand Sureshots” were pressed into a limited edition vinyl that can be purchased in various packages along with the DVD. But if you are not lucky enough to purchase one of the limited edition vinyls u can always search countless LA area thrift stores and look for the 4 “Secondhand Sureshots” albums placed strategically among the Barbra Streisand records by J. Rocc and company.
